Aluminum foil pharmaceutical packaging is very common in our daily life, we usually eat medicine, whether some bottles or soft packaging, a lot of sealing materials are used to seal the final aluminum foil. It can be said that most pharmaceutical packaging is processed with aluminum foil. What are the common products of these widely circulated medicinal aluminum foil in our life?

There are two kinds of foils commonly used in the market, mainly 8011 и 8021 series aluminum foil, which is the main raw materials. We are familiar with the following kinds of aluminum foil for drug packaging: PTP алуминиево фолио, aluminum bubble cover foil, aluminum-plastic composite materials, aluminum foil for drug bottle caps

1. PTP алуминиево фолио: also known as pharmaceutical board aluminum foil, capsule aluminum foil, or bubble cover aluminum foil, this type of packaging is mainly made of 8011-H18 or 8011-O aluminum raw material aluminum foil. 2. Cold farming alu alu foil: also known as cold-formed medicinal foil or cold aluminum foil. It is mainly made of 8021-O aluminum foil, which is different from PTP foils in the application scenario. Cold-formed aluminum foil is commonly used in high-end pharmaceuticals and is often used in moisture-proof and fully light-blocking pharmaceutical packaging that requires tight seals. The general thickness is 0.04-0.065mm.

3. Алуминиево лентово фолио: this refers to adding a layer of cold-pressed aluminum foil on the outside of thermoforming plastic bubble cover and PTP aluminum foil. It is a compound packaging material, which is the highest-end packaging aluminum foil in drug packaging. It is generally made of 8021-O aluminum foil and 8079-O aluminum foil materials.

4. Medicine PVC hard film: also known as medicinal PVC, is the main resin formed by the polymerization of vinyl chloride monomer, to auxiliary materials, such as plasticizer, heat stabilizer, and lubricant, after extrusion or calendering production. Now we use the bubble cover packaging PVC is almost calendering production process, PVC film for composite materials for extrusion production. Bubble cover with plastic materials and PVC/PVDC(polyvinylidene chloride) composite sheet, PET(polyester), PE(polyethylene), ПП(polypropylene), and other materials.

5. Aluminum foil for drug cap: many drugs are bottled and sealed with an aluminum foil layer at the mouth of the bottle, also known as an aluminum foil for drug cap material. This kind is generally made of 8011-H14 aluminum foil or 8011-H16 aluminum foil. It is widely used in bottled liquids, such as oral fluids used in medicine, antibiotics, and infusion.

By medicinal aluminum foil packing, according to data from the pharmaceutical packaging aluminum foil now account for about 25% of the drug packaging materials, including blister aluminum foil in the Chinese market only account for 20% of the total drug packaging, the proportion is far lower than the developed countries, some developed countries has reached to 70%, which from one aspect shows the development potential of medicinal aluminum foil is relatively large.
